Sammy Watkins appears to be a perfect match, and the broad receiver draft is massive, thus Baltimore has possibilities.

  • Other: Charlie Joiner, Terrell Owens
  • Previous Rank: 28

Super Bowl LVI odds: 100/1

For this season, Riley Reiff defends his blind side, and Oregon tackle Penei Sewell might join him to build a solid offensive front ahead of Joe Mixon. Yet, the overall picture might not seem promising for the team.

Cleveland Browns

History

In 1945, Brown and entrepreneur Arthur B. McBride formed the franchise as a founding member of the All-America Football Conference (AAFC).

Achievements

  • The period from 1950 to 1955 witnessed its dominance by winning the NFL championship game every year, overall three times.

  • Since 1999, three winning seasons: 2002, 2007, and 2020, two playoff presences in 2002 and 2020, and one playoff win in 2020.

Acknowledged Members:

  • Mac Speedie - The most recent one. With the Browns, Speedie quickly established himself as a key member of an offense.  He was a threat for defenders selected to watch him because he was eager, energetic, and swift.
  • Previous Rank: 9
  • Super Bowl LVI odds: 22/1
  • Safety is paramount. John Johnson III strengthens a depleted secondary, and all of the main offensive players return from the previous season. The Browns are a playoff contender throughout seasons. To sum up, things are quite dull until now.

Super Bowl LVI odds: 35/1

The Steelers have made no big offseason changes till now, and are optimistic that Ben Roethlisberger will remain healthy for another 16-17 matches. Pittsburgh has been 1-6 since early December, thus if they get back to .500, particularly if Roethlisberger is injured, don't panic!

  • The four-year period from 1990 to 1993 saw their appearance in four continuous Super Bowls

  • The Bills had the longest active postseason drought of the four major North American professional sports from 2000 to 2016, leaving them the last NFL franchise and the last of the four leagues to meet the criteria for the playoffs in the twenty-first century.

Previous Position: 3

Super Bowl LVI chances: 10/1

The Bills had a productive preseason, terminating Matt Milano, retaining Emmanuel Sanders, and acquiring Josh Allen with Mitchell Trubisky. Buffalo has no excuse to miss out on the AFC Championship Game next January.

  • Previous Position: 26
  • Super Bowl LVI chances: 80/1
  • Philly's decision to trade down from No. 6 to No. 12 in the NFL Draft in 2021 is a little strange. The Eagles will receive the first-round selection of the Miami Dolphins in 2022, but with limited free agency funds, they might need some high-end talent for the draft of this year. Nick Sirianni and Howie Roseman are under a lot of pressure to get Jalen Hurts back on track.

New York Jets

Achievements

  • Since 1968, 13 appearances in the playoffs, and 4 in the AFC Championship Game, most recently losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2010.

  • Yet, they have never gone back to the Super Bowl, and even worse, the Jets' drought is the longest amongst contemporary NFL franchises.

Previous Position: 29

Super Bowl LVI chances: 80/1

Followers of the Jets should be ecstatic at the prospect of Corey Davis catching passes from Zach Wilson. Playing for what might not significantly be the trickiest tier in the NFL.  New York must also improve its defense, which surrendered 28.6 points per game in the previous season.

Deshaun Watson's case is becoming more problematic because more sexual harassment cases surface. He seems to have played his final game with the Texans, however, it's questionable whether he'll be available for Week 1 with any team.

Jacksonville Jaguars

History

The Jaguars were formed in 1995 as an expansion team together with the Carolina Panthers and played in the AFC Central until 2002 when they were reorganized to the AFC South. Shahid Khan bought the team from Wayne Weaver, who was the team's initial largest shareholder, in 2011.

  • Youngest NFL expansion team to be present in a conference championship and secure their conference's division title.

  • Only 3 playoff appearances and one one division title since 2000.

Previous Position: 31

100/1 Super Bowl LVI chances

This is a fun wake-up call: despite being the best rookie quarterback in the league, Justin Herbert went 6-9 with the Chargers last season. On a Jaguars squad that requires attacking power after fairly lackluster free-agent signings in Carlos Hyde and Marvin Jones, Trevor Lawrence will be delighted with those outcomes.

Following the free agent exits of Jonnu Smith and Corey Davis, the Titans' odds aren't looking good. Although there are legitimate concerns about Derrick Henry's job demands, this team is still prepared for the playoffs and has resolved its pass-rushing requirements by bringing in Bud Dupree and Denico Autry.

Denver Broncos

Acknowledged members

The Broncos have 8 principal members blessed in the Pro Football Hall of Fame: John Elway, Floyd Little, Shannon Sharpe, Gary Zimmerman, Terrell Davis, Champ Bailey, and Steve Atwate, Peyton Manning, and the late club owner Pat Bowlen.

Previous Position: 27

60/1 Super Bowl LVI chances

Denver bolstered its secondary by signing free agents Ronald Darby and Kyle Fuller, as well as signing safety Justin Simmons to a long-term contract extension. All of this is fine and dandy, however, the Broncos really need to figure out what they would do at quarterback. Our instinct can tell that  Drew Lock is not the solution.

Kansas City Chiefs

  • The second AFL team to defeat an NFL team in an AFL–NFL World Championship Game in 1970

  • The second team to appear in more than one Super Bowl

  • The first to appear in the championship game in two different decades.

  • Since 2017, they have won 5 of their last 6 postseason games, including Super Bowl LIV in 2020, which got the franchise their first championship in 50 years.

  • In February 2021, the team advanced to Super Bowl LV but couldn't defeat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Previous Position: 2

Super Bowl LVI betting odds are 21/4.

In Kansas City, the offensive line is everything. Joe Thuney, a former Patriots Pro Bowl guard, is a fantastic addition, but the Chiefs lost out on Trent Williams after letting go of tackles Mitchell Schwartz and Eric Fisher. They'll probably recruit offensive linemen in the NFL Draft, and then how well a new guy fits in will decide if Patrick Mahomes will advance this team to a second title.

Previous Position: 17

40/1 Super Bowl LVI chances

In terms of nasty defenses, only the Jaguars and Lions surrendered more points in 2020 than Las Vegas. The addition of outside linebacker Yannick Ngakoue could improve, yet the losses of wide receiver Nelson Agholor, center Rodney Hudson, and offensive tackle Trent Brown will hold the offense back.

  • The most victories of all NFL franchises.

Previous Position: 21

The Portsmouth Spartans were created in Portsmouth, Ohio, and entered the NFL on July 12, 1930. The team was relocated to Detroit in 1934 due to a lack of funds. The Lions have also been renamed after the city's Major League Baseball (MLB) team, the Tigers.

Achievements

  • 4 NFL Championship Games between 1935 and 1957, all before the Super Bowl era.

  • Since 1957, won only a single playoff game in 1992 and never proceeded to the NFC Championship Game.

  • What's even worse, the oldest and only NFL team to not appear in the Super Bowl.

  • Rivals: the Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings, and Detroit Lions, which forms the NFL's NFC North division.

Previous Position: 4

10/1 Super Bowl LVI chances

The Packers' smartest offseason decision may have been recruiting Joe Barry as their new defensive coordinator. Green Bay will win the NFC Championship Game if they can keep blocks and Aaron Rodgers plays close to his 2020 level.

Minnesota Vikings

History

45/1 Super Bowl LVI chances

For the previous season, cornerback Patrick Peterson and defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson were much-needed additions to the league's No. 28 scoring defense. • In 2015, the most valuable sports team in the world at $4 billion, making it the most valuable sports team in the world as per Forbes' list.

Previous Position: 19

LVI Super Bowl odds: 25/1

Dak Prescott should be back at quarterback for the Cowboys in 2021. Yet, Prescott is incapable of playing defense, and after signing free agent safety Keanu Neal, Dallas should do something about its tactics to strengthen the NFL's fifth-worst defense.

New York Giants

History

They were among five teams to enter the NFL in 1925, and they are the only one of those five teams still in existence, and also the oldest team of the league in the Northeast.

Achievements

  • With 8 NFL championship titles, it ranks third among all NFL franchises

  • 19 total championship appearances- the highest figure among others.

  • Only the Green Bay Packers (13) and the Chicago Bears (9) have more championships.

Philadelphia Eagles

History

The franchise was founded in 1933 as a substitution for the bankrupt Frankford Yellow Jackets when a group directed by Bert Bell acquired the rights to an NFL franchise in Philadelphia. It is beyond common knowledge that Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants are their long-standing and fervent opponents.

Achievements

  • Since 1999, the team has consistently been among the best in the league in terms of attendance, selling out every match.

  • Their fanbase is considered the most formidable in the NFL and probably all sports.

Previous Position: 26

History

The Redskins were established in 1932 as the Boston Braves but changed their name the subsequent year to the Redskins. In 1937, the franchise moved to Washington, D.C., where it has been ever since.

Over the years, the Washington Redskins name and logo have sparked debate, with many opposing the word "redskin" as racially offensive to Native Americans.  Notwithstanding the team's reluctance to change it for years, tension from the NFL and team sponsors finally forced the team to abolish both names in 2020.  They reluctantly renamed to the Washington Football Team.

Achievements

  • Won the 1937 and 1942 NFL championship games and Super Bowls XVII, XXII, and XXVI.

  • 6 times as a league runner-up, missing 1936, 1940, 1943, and 1945 title games and Super Bowls VII and XVIII.
